HCP’s Education Facilities and Gallery Temporarily Closed
Dear HCP Family,
Along with our colleagues at arts institutions around the city, Houston Center for Photography will be temporarily closing our gallery to the public until further notice due to the COVID-19 outbreak. At the core of our mission is our community, and your health and safety as well as the well-being of our staff, artists, and other cultural workers around the city is central to this decision.
While our physical space may be closed, our programs will be transitioning online, offering you new ways to experience our exhibitions, lectures, and educational offerings from the comfort of your home. Later this week, we will launch the next issue of spot magazine online, which focuses on artists working to impact social change. As always, we will release the core issue at once, but more content will be added throughout the season.
In addition to closing our galleries, our classes will be moving online in the coming weeks. Our Spring 2020 schedule will launch with online offerings to keep your creativity going while you practice social distancing. Now is a great time to digitize your family archives, master that technique in Lightroom, or work on that project you’ve had on the backburner. If you’re looking for support during this process, we are here to help! In addition to our online classes, we will be offering digital, one-on-one critiques and portfolio reviews, digital private lessons, and we will be adding new content for youth to explore from home.
You can keep up-to-date with us through our enews and social media, and as always, we love hearing from you—drop us a line if you have any questions at email@example.com.
We value this incredible community we have built together, and are immensely grateful for your support and belief in our programs. We look forward to welcoming you back in the gallery soon, but until then, we’ll see you online!
